Critics Choice awards 2017(BEST DOCUMENTARY)

LOS ANGELES, CA (October 3, 2017) The second annual Critics Choice Documentary Awards. Honoring the finest achievements in documentary features. And also  non-fiction television, will be present. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at BRIC in Brooklyn, New York. Host for the program will may be magician/illusionist, comedian, actor and also best-selling author Penn Jillette.

Broadcast Film Critics Association(BFCA) and Broadcast Television Journalists Association(BTJA) president Joey Berlin said.The success of the inaugural Critics Choice Documentary Awards last November is thrilled them. Two different filmmakers told. That last year’s show that just being nominated for a CCDA helped them add distribution platforms for their docs. They used these awards while shine a light on the best documentary films. Non-fiction television shows and those conversations confirmed the value and importance of the stand-alone documentary awards show.

At last year’s inaugural event, Ezra Edelman’s was the winner. His OJ: Made in America took home the most awards for the evening. Also he took Best Documentary (Theatrical Feature). The film received many more accolades and awards. Similarly the Critics Choice Documentary Awards. It also the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.

Ava DuVernay’s 13th won three awards and Best Documentary (TV/Streaming). This film won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special and also received a nomination for an Academy Award.

Qualified members of the BFCA and the BTJA determines awards. and feature multiple categories across both television and film. Nominations are announced on Monday, October 9, 2017.
